  • Enjoy the hidden beauty of three islands adorned with thousands of water lilies in Amazonia.

Embark on a semi-private sightseeing boat tour of Lake Skadar, a natural wonder nestled between Montenegro and Albania. This 2-hour guided tour offers an unforgettable journey through the lake’s serene waters, rich history, and vibrant wildlife.

Begin your adventure by cruising through a lush river channel lined with willows and reeds, where the tranquil surroundings set the tone for the day. As you exit the channel, take in the spectacular views of Albania’s distant mountains and the striking Vranjina Island, with its twin peaks reaching toward the sky. Sail under a picturesque bridge and navigate through paths bordered by vast fields of floating water chestnuts.

Soon, you’ll encounter the atmospheric ruins of Lesendro Fortress, a historic site now serving as a haven for the lake’s birdlife. Breathe in the crisp, fresh air as you approach the lake’s confluence with the Morača River, a spot teeming with natural beauty.

One of the tour’s highlights is the enchanting area known as Amazonia, hidden behind three small islands. Here, you’ll find endless fields of vibrant water lilies, their emerald-green leaves floating gracefully on the water’s surface. Relax and savour the moment with a glass of local wine in hand, a perfect complement to the serene surroundings. The journey continues through a narrow passage flanked by marshy meadows and a rugged, steep coastline.

This path leads to the foot of Odrin Hill, home to the medieval Kom Monastery, a hidden gem in the swampy northwestern reaches of Lake Skadar. This historic monastery, known for its well-preserved frescoes, has stood the test of time and offers panoramic views from its terrace. After exploring the monastery and soaking in its rich history, the boat will take you back to Virpazar, the charming starting point of your journey.

Great value for money!
Wine and Montenegrin snacks are included in the tour! Only 6 of us were on the boat in total, which made the tour very personal! We even proceeded with the tour on the train! I would recommend anyone to go on this Skadar Lake boat tour.

The trip was amazing from start to finish!
The staff were great, the lake and landscapes were stunning, and the captain, Petar, was fantastic, though not the best photographer! 😂 They offered wine and drinks on the boat, making the experience more enjoyable. I’d do it again! An unofficial parking area costs €5, and a €5 fee for the national park, which is stated. I couldn’t arrive on time, but they kindly offered to reserve our seats for a different time for an extra €5 per person, which we accepted - and I’m so glad we did!

Highly recommended, a lifetime experience!
We took the 3-hour trip. The nature of the lake is fantastic and beautiful. The view from the monastery is breathtaking. Our guide, Petar, showed us the warmth of the Montenegrians and their hospitality; the tastings, wine, and local food were fantastic. Thank you, Kingfisher!

It was nice from the beginning!
The guide completed the group, and we went to the boat. As we set off, the guide introduced himself and the captain. He talked a lot about nature and history. We received wine doughnuts, and the guide took photos of us with beautiful views of nature. The boat was comfortable and had plenty of space. I recommend this 3-hour temple tour on Lake Skadar.

It exceeded all our expectations!
This was a great tour! Our guide, Petar, was the best! He made every moment fun knowledgeable, and ensured everyone was having a great time. We recommend the tour and, if possible, book specifically with Petar! We loved the experience with Kingfisher!

Best boat tours on Skadar Lake are with Kingfisher - no doubt!
Brilliant guide, knowledgeable about the lake and local area. Much time was spent on the lake, including local food and drink. The kids enjoyed it too, especially the swimming.

The boat trip on Lake Skadar was fantastic - book with Kingfisher!
We had a lot of fun, and the scenery was breathtaking. Eva was invaluable, explaining everything clearly, and Stefan, always friendly, ensured a pleasant atmosphere. They also offered a typical local sweet and drinks, adding a special touch to the experience. It was a beautiful and interesting trip that I highly recommend.

This boat trip was the highlight of our holiday
It is fantastic value for money, and we'd recommend this experience to any visitors to Montenegro. Lake Skadar is a spectacular place, and we got to see much more of it than we would on a self- guided kayak or SUP trip.
