  • Travel along small, narrow channels accessible only by traditional wooden boats.
  • Discover the centuries-old Lesendro ruins amongst fields of water chestnuts.
  • Try local wine and take a refreshing swim in the middle of the wilderness.
  • Enjoy the hidden beauty of three islands adorned with thousands of water lilies in Amazonia.
  • Visit the medieval Monastery Kom and admire its centuries-old frescoes.

Sail along a short river channel and enjoy the greenery of willows and reeds surrounding you. When you exit, be treated to a beautiful view of the distant mountains in Albania and Vranjina Island as it defiantly aims its two peaks towards the sky.

Pass under the nearby bridge and sail through paths surrounded by vast fields of water chestnuts. Ruins of Lesendro will appear soon after, offering a lovely view of its avian residents enjoying the sun. Breathe in the fresh air as you pass near the lake’s crossroad with the Morača River.

Another enchanting sight awaits in the so-called Amazonia. Hidden behind the three nearby islands lies the endless fields of water lilies and their floating, dark-green leaves. Take your time and enjoy the scenery with a cup of local wine in your hand.

Continue with the narrow passage between marshy meadows and an uneven, steep coast. The passage ends at the foot of Odrin Hill, the home of the medieval Kom Monastery. Hidden in the swampy northwestern reaches of the lake, Kom has courageously withstood all the tests of time. This Monastery has the best-preserved frescoes in the region.

After exploring this scenic view, the boat will take you back to Virpazar. In the meantime, arm yourself with sunscreen and a hat – take the opportunity to swim in the fresh lake water.

The highlight of our holiday!
They are very professional people to deal with. We booked an extra hour when we boarded the private boat for 4, and they were flexible enough to let us do this. We had a lovely young boat captain who was most obliging: a lovely day, the highlight of our holiday in Montenegro - an unmissable experience. The lake is gorgeous with its bulrushes and lilies.

A relaxing day on the water
Baki was our friendly captain for this lovely and relaxing excursion. The best boat trips don't have endless commentary on events and locations, which we will forget almost immediately upon hearing, but allow you to relax and take in the beauty. 10/10!

Friendly crew and lovely trip!
The trip on the lake was lovely, and the guide was funny and chatty. He slowed down in places where there was something to see. It was late summer, so we didn't swim but enjoyed the wine ;)
